Custom made Nongs - now for sale!

It's been a little quiet over here on the Nong making front - I've been taking an extended hiatus that began with a break for Christmas, and now suddenly it's March! eek!



For those of you looking to get your hands on a wee Nong, there are a few options:

In Melbourne, there are two fabulous shops that sell my Nongs;

Arthur's Circus, at 631 Queensberry St, North Melbourne;

and

Meet Me at Mikes, at 63 Brunswick St, Fitzroy.

For those of you otherwise situated, I am taking orders for custom Nongs, right here on this blog!

Here's the scoop:

If you'd like a custom Nong, just email me, asking nicely, and let me know your colour preferences, and I'll make you a unique, handmade, just for you Nong!

The custom Nongs are made in this style:



They have hand stitched wool felt faces, buttons for eyes, and feature two printed fabrics patchworked onto a linen/cotton base. The linen base comes in two colours, natural (unbleached), and white. They have a 'Nong' tag out the side, and are stuffed with polyfill.



If your order is for a small child, and you're nervous about the buttons, I also do embroidered faces, like this:



So if you'd like one, get yourself to emailing! And don't forget to specify:

1. white or natural linen?

2. Colour preferences? Up to two or three colours is fine.

3. Felt and button face, or baby-friendly embroidered face?

Gorgeous red vintage heels

These vintage heels are freaking gorgeous - I bought them on Ebay, but sadly they don't fit.....

They are marked 'Ramblers' by Florsheim, and feature a cute little square heel, top stitching on the toes, and a cute little loafer style flap front with a leather strap.

They are a size 7.5, but run rather narrow, so please check the measurements!

They are 3 inches wide over the ball of the foot, and measure 9.5 inches long from heel to toe along the inside sole.

They are in excellent vintage condition, with barely any wear to the soles, and no marks or faults to be seen.

Four vintage 'Fire King' mugs with orange motif

This is a set of four very cute 'Fire King' mugs with wee little orages printed on them.....

Made from the trademark Fire King milky pyrexy glassy stuff (such technical terms!) they are sweet and durable, the perfect addition to a vintage kitchen...

They measure 3.5 inches tall, with 2 x 2 inch orange decals.

They are in great condition, two of the mugs have slight discolouration from use on the insides, but nothing too dramatic!

Brass statue - Stag

This is a gorgeous brass statue of a stag sitting on the ground. He has lovely big eyes and magnificent horns - he'll look great in your house!

He measures 7.5 inches long and 6.5 inches tall and is made from solid brass.

The brass has a lovely patina of age on it, but nothing I would consider a fault. He's gorgeous!

Brass statue - deer

This is a gorgeous brass statue of a doe sitting on the ground. She has lovely big eyes and cute little tucked in hooves at the front - she'll look great in your house!

She measures 7.5 inches long and 4 inches tall and is made from solid brass.

The brass has a lovely patina of age on it, but nothing I would consider a fault. She's gorgeous!

Kinono silk piece - traditional flowers

This is a stunning piece of kimono silk - lovely and crepey to the touch, it features a stunning pattern of traditional Japanese flowers.

In predominantly red and orange, the pattern also features accents of greens, yellows black and pink, with some silver and gold metallic accents too.

The piece measures 14 inches wide and 46 inches long - a nice large piece suitable for all manner of uses.

The piece is in perfect condition, with no holes or stains.

Kimono silk piece - fans

This is a gorgeous piece of kimono silk - a lovely dark dusty blue with a pattern of small fans in white, red and yellow.

The piece measures 14 inches wide and 29.5 inches long.

This piece is perfect for all sorts of projects!

The silk is in perfect condition, with no holes or stains.

Pink floral vintage bedsheet section

This is a large section of a vintage bedsheet featuring a brilliant large floral motif in pinks, greens and burgundy.

The sheet is no longer whole, but measures a sizeable 59 inches wide x 76 inches long.

It has a reasonable amount of fading, but the pattern is still clear, and perfectly useable.

There is one small hole in the sheet (less than 1cm) but otherwise it is clean and free of stains and holes.

This fabric would be great as part of a shabby quilt, or as a lining for a vintage style tote bag.....

Vintage Yellow Nong....

This is the first Nong I am offering for sale in my Blog Shop - I hope you like him!



This Nong is made from a gorgeous linen weave vintage tablecloth, with yellow flowers and green leaves on a creamy background. He has a grey wool felt face and accents, and black buttons for eyes, and has been lovingly handcrafted by Yours Truly, to be taken home by you!



He is 20 inches, or 51 cm long, and is always up for a cuddle....


He is $30 AUD plus postage.

She is made from a natural coloured linen/cotton blend, and has wool felt hair and shoes, linen/cotton underclothes, and a removable pinafore made from Amy Butler Cherry Dot with a red linen/cotton lining and mustard felt buttons, topped off with a cute scarf made from Hollabee fabric!



She has an embroidered face, so she is safe for children of all ages, and certainly for adults, too! She measures 13 inches, or 33 cm in height.
